Long before it turned up on chains and rings, the ankh was how ancient Egyptians wrote the word for life. This ring lays that symbol along the finger in lab grown diamonds, loop and all, on a band of 925 sterling silver. It is a big piece, and it is made to be.
The symbol, drawn in two kinds of stone
Round brilliants form the border. They follow the curve of the loop, run out along both arms and down the flared stem, so the outline of the symbol is drawn in light. Inside that border, a thin rim of metal marks off a second layer. There, long, narrow stones set in a line trace the ankh again at a smaller scale, around the loop's inner curve, across the arms and down the center of the stem.
On a lot of ankh designs the eye of the loop is left open. Here it is filled with a teardrop of small rounds, leaving no dark gap at the top. Upright on the finger
Worn with the loop toward the knuckle, the stem points to the fingertip and the ankh stands upright whenever your hand hangs at your side. The arms are wider than the finger itself and reach out over the gaps on either side.
