People Read It First

What Hangs Here
Faith runs deepest in this collection. Crosses outnumber everything else, backed by Jesus pieces, ankhs, hamsas and Stars of David. After that it splits two ways: personal, meaning names, initials and mosaic-set photo pendants, and symbolic, meaning dog tags, hearts, crowns and clovers. Sizing spans 1.5 inches at the quiet end to 3.5 inches at the loud end. The mini hides under a collar. The big one hides nowhere.
Cross Pendants, Ankhs and Faith Pieces
Crosses come plain-edged, baguette-set, or iced right across the face, and a few are built with depth, so the face steps forward instead of staying level. Ankhs, hamsas, Stars of David and Allah pendants cover anyone shopping outside the cross. The ankh is the Egyptian sign for life; the hamsa is an open palm worn against bad luck. Both are older than the jewelry they turn up on, which is why they still read as personal rather than decorative. Most land between 1.5 and 2.5 inches. Names, Initials and Photo Pendants
Names, initials and photo pendants are a sizeable slice of what's here, and the shapes they take are worth knowing up front. Vertical name pendants stack the letters downward, so a long name still reads at chest width instead of running off the edge. Cursive scripts flow sideways and sit most comfortably at two or three letters. Initials come plain, crowned, or hung from a heart-shaped bail. Photo pendants use mosaic setting, where a picture is rebuilt out of individually placed stones rather than printed onto the metal, and a few designs rotate or run double-sided so there are two faces to fill. Matching a Pendant to Your Chain
Most of these ship as the pendant alone, so the chain is your call. The bail is the loop at the top, and it's the part that decides the question: a narrow bail won't swallow a wide Cuban link no matter how well the sizes look on paper. No chain yet? What These Pendants Are Made Of, and What They Aren't
The base metal on nearly every pendant here is 925 sterling silver. Over that goes a gold finish: white gold turns up most often, yellow and rose on plenty of designs, and some listings carry all three. On almost everything here that finish is plating rather than solid gold, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. A small run of 10K solid-gold pieces is the exception, and those listings say so. Stones are VVS-grade moissanite on most designs, with a GRA report in most boxes. Moissanite isn't a diamond and doesn't pretend to be. It scatters more light per carat, which is the entire reason it reads from ten feet away. FAQ
Look at the Style option on the product page. It reads Pendant alone or Pendant only when the piece ships by itself, and it names a chain and a length when one is included. If you already have something to hang it on, the pendant-alone option is the one you want.
Under 2 inches sits near the collarbone and works under a shirt. Two to two-and-a-half inches is the everyday hip-hop proportion: it registers, and it still leaves the chain room to show. Past three inches you're dressing around the pendant instead of the other way round. Give it a wide chain and an open collar.
Baguette stones are long rectangles rather than round. Set side by side they read as clean bars of light instead of scattered sparkle, so a baguette cross looks sharper than the same cross in round stones. A good share of the collection uses baguette work, often mixed with round stones on one face.
Not in this collection. Plenty of the titles use both words for the same piece. The older distinction is that a charm hangs from a bracelet and a pendant from a chain, but here both describe the thing that hangs at the front. Judge by the bail size and the measurement rather than by which word the title happens to use.
Plating is a surface layer over the silver, so on any plated piece it can thin at the points that rub. A pendant hangs against fabric instead of taking the constant metal-on-skin friction a ring or a clasp does, which is why plated pendants generally hold their finish longer than plated rings. Keep it off during swimming and away from perfume and it will stay closer to how it arrived.
