It reads 9.25 on the Mohs scale, hard enough that daily wear won't cloud the face, and it disperses light at 0.104 against a diamond's 0.044, the standard gemological figures for the two stones. That gap is where the colored flash comes from on a surface set this tight.

Which Finger, Which Finish
